[Group/ Function’s Goal]

Heterogeneity of CNS disorders is one of the major barriers for drug discovery. Analysis of exosome in patient specimen, such as plasma and CSF, is one of the key approach to overcome the difficulty. The group responsibility is to discover novel patient stratification biomarkers by exosome analysis, molecular pathological analysis, and cutting edge technologies. Also the group responsibility is to clarify drug target molecules and the mechanism for neuroscience therapeutic area drug projects by using multi-omics data such as chemical proteomics, metabolomics and transcriptomics.


  • Plans and executes cutting edge exosome assay development including exosome isolation, preparation and analysis using biological samples including human plasma, CSF and tissue.
  • Collaborates with drug discovery project members to be responsible for evaluating drug mechanisms through exosomal-omics analyses.
  • Handles comprehensive cross-omics data to understand biological and pathogenic pathways by bioinformatics approach.
  • Writes research reports and academic papers timely and communicates effectively with internal and external partners.



  • PhD or equivalent in science with molecular biology, cell biology or related field
  • Minimum 3 years experience in biological experiments of exosome, extracellular vesicle or related field
  • Experience in biomarker experiments using human biological samples including blood, CSF and tissue
  • Deep understanding of biological pathway analysis from bioinformatics approach.
  • Good communication skills and proactive mindset to effectively drive collaborative researches forward with internal and external partners
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in Japanese and/or English
  • Results driven mindset


  • Knowledge and expertise in CNS diseases drug discovery (strongly preferred)
  • Knowledge and experience in Bioinformatics and Systems Biology (strongly preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience in Multi-omics (transcriptomics, proteomics, genomics, metabolomics)
  • Familiar with RNA sequencing technologies
