Posting Detail Information

Position Summary We are seeking a Postdoctoral Associate to work on immunology and immunotherapy of human solid tumors. This project seeks to define and target the cellular and molecular events that are causally linked to immune suppression of tumor specific T-cells present in the peripheral blood and tumor microenvironment of melanoma cancer patients that are vaccinated with tumor neo-antigen specific peptides. This project will focus upon tumor derived immune suppressive extracellular vesicles called exosomes that are thought to be immune suppressive. Our goal here is to design and test strategies to block the immune suppressive effects of the exosomes and other cellular and molecular factors that inhibit the anti-tumor immune response. By blocking these immune inhibiting factors we expect to enhance the efficacy of tumor vaccination and other tumor immunotherapies. Funding is available for one year with an option to renew for additional years.
Minimum Qualifications We are seeking individuals who have experience in immunology or who are interested and eager to be trained in immunology that is to be applied to cancer immunotherapy. Some skill sets we are looking for include expertise in M.S. Office, follow cytometry, molecular biology, tissue culture, animal models, and excellent oral and writing communication skills.
